Testimonials

  • After a series of unsuccessful interviews my confidence was low and I felt stuck. Emma’s practical and focussed coaching helped me turn this around; Emma gave me practical tips about how to get key points across in interview, approach interviews in a positive way and improve my confidence. Emma also helped me approach difficult management conversations with greater confidence. As a result, I have got the job I wanted on promotion and am hugely grateful to Emma for her help. I will take the techniques she has taught me into my new role. I could not recommend Emma more highly.

  • Emma is a brilliant coach. The sessions were well structured and she very quickly managed to drill down to the heart of the issue(s), identifying changes I needed to make in order to maximise my leadership potential. Without realising it, I was in need of a direct challenge to some of my incorrect assumptions. Emma delivered these in a thought provoking and concise manner, with a focus on providing tangible examples of how I could deliver immediate results (which worked). A great experience that I highly recommend to others.

  • Emma is an excellent coach. As a judicial office holder in a leadership post, I was a little hesitant about the value of coaching but I was entirely wrong. Emma’s talent lies in her ability to unlock potential and bring perspective.

Her style is equally to encourage and to challenge. With her help, I have been able to devise and implement strategies to deal with change and transition in a complex organisation. I am happy to give Emma my wholehearted recommendation.

  • Emma is insightful, quick to pick up on the important points and help me understand the underlying issues. She then helped me work out how to solve my problems with realistic solutions. She also helped me improve my personal impact and address the issues that could affect my performance in some highly stressful situations. Getting to the route of the problem quickly.

  • I enjoyed working with Emma very much and welcomed the blend of empathy/ support and some challenge too. I particularly valued the work we did on cognitive behavioural coaching, which provided me with some new tools to try to overcome longstanding weaknesses of mine.

Emma ensured that I took on board and internalised robust techniques which I am confident will stand the test of time. I very much hope to be able to continue working with Emma, as she created an excellent rapport with me, on which I would like to build in future.

  • I wanted to focus on building my elf-confidence and moving from a managerial and operational style to a more strategic one. From the very start, working with Emma was great, she struck a great balance between making me feel comfortable yet challenging me, holding me account for the actions I’d agreed to take forward. My self-confidence has noticeably improved (I recognise it and colleagues have commented too) and my team and managers unanimously fed back that I have successfully transitioned from an operational to a strategic style.

—Team Leader, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

  • Emma’s style is engaging – I felt she was on my side and rooting for me to do well (not always the case with coaches where I feel it can be impersonal and I’m just being asked the same set of questions they’re asking everyone else).

—Head of Unit, Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office

  • My experience of working with Emma was extremely positive. We discussed, analysed and brainstormed a wide range of topics and I left each conversation satisfied and clear on the path and actions I needed to take both professionally and personally.

Emma and her style gelled with me immediately and I would encourage others to reach out to her to understand how she can support you on your path in 2021 and beyond.

  • Emma’s coaching style is positive and nurturing at the same time as providing a welcome level of challenge, to seek clarity on issues that are blocking performance.

Her thoughtful and insightful method of questioning stems from her expertise in and passion for psychology, that she uses to delve deep to overcome obstacles that we generally put up for ourselves. I finished each coaching session with Emma feeling more positive, and knowing that I could make change happen.

  • Emma has been a great coach for me. She listens carefully and is insightful with her questioning and advice. I have come away from each session with a clear set of goals to help me improve my own performance and that of my team.

Just as important as the wise guidance is Emma’s personal style – it has been productive and fun!”

Senior Leader, Maritime & Coastguard Agency

  • Emma helped me to manage my overly self-critical thoughts and focus on creating kinder, more balanced, growth orientated thinking. She listened, challenged and brought in really useful perspectives from CBT and other psychological approaches.

Every session had very clear applicable action points at the end, which I was able to apply between sessions to make changes in my approach. I still refer back regularly to key insights I drew from these coaching sessions.

The other area she supported me on was creating a sustainable work life balance, and giving myself permission to pace myself, my energy and my diary to focus on longer term resilience. While I knew the rules to doing this, the psychological impediment was my own inner feeling I needed to do more. Challenging that in the sessions, helped me to recognise that having more space as a leader, gives you time to be strategic, and model the resilience you want to see in others. Its made a big difference to my leadership approach.

—British Deputy Consul General, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

  • I approached Emma for coaching, wanting to work specifically on vision setting, articulating what I am thinking and holding people to account. We quickly identified that confidence and very unkind self talk were at the root of these.

Emma is an excellent listener – she plays back what I have said which can be quite hard to hear but extremely powerful. She introduces specific techniques to help me work through issues and is very clear on the homework/next steps.

At the same time as being highly structured and focussed, she is really lovely and understanding which makes me feel safe to raise the things I find difficult. I feel like I have made a huge amount of progress in just three sessions so I will definitely be finding a way to have more! I highly recommend working with Emma.

    —Director, Department for Education

In my sessions with Emma we identified the key areas we could work on together, and through her structured and insightful coaching style, Emma swiftly enabled me to consider completely new perspectives and ways of approaching issues and behaviours.
